In other news ... {news on Leo}

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread

I heard yesterday morning on TV, while I was sipping my coffee, that Leo has gained about 20 pounds and he might also go to the gym. A new movie in which he also plays, "Celebrity," was just released or is going to be today, if I remember well. Thought it might interest some Leo fans.

Speaking of Leo, does anyone know the true story? I have heard numerous times that he's a major jerk. That would be too bad, but you never know...so can anyone confirm this for me? No to offend any Leo fans, but I heard in the newspaper ( no, not the tabliods ) that he was seen at a club in Hollywood inviting teenage girls in for, well, you know. If they weren't pretty enough, he would call them rather harsh names. And if they had a boyfriend, he would urge the girls to leave the guys. Then they'd dump their boyfriends on the spot, then emerge from the club an hour or so later, looking quite pleased. This seems really weird and offensive is this were just a rumor, so if anyone knows the truth, do tell. I'm sure I and other people would want to know. I do hope that he's a nice guy, for half the population of girls in the world, including most of my friends. Although, no one can ever believe what they read! I do like to read the tabliods though... " 'I swear, that UFO abducted my wife!' says farmer." Hee hee, those are fun!

Kelly, I don't know. Some time ago I even wrote Leo a card (after his knee surgery) letting him know about this site and hoping he might have stopped by for a minute to say hi. (I gave him a password). Of course, how many thousands of cards and letters doesn't he get these days from his screaming fans?

What I do know is that he wants to be some sort of modern James Dean, his favorite role model actor. In one interview, Leo was asked whether he feels being like Jack. Though he denied, he said he would "like to be like him." It is also a fact that he has lots of respect for his parents and German grandmother (he keeps her address from Germany a secret to save her from publicity and media). We also know that he does some charity work (last time with the injured Chinese gymnast that he visited in private). Now, of course, his PR manager would make him do many things. It depends how much he needs to "fall" in a certain public role. He might be a jerk sometimes, especially while partying with friends, but let's not forget that most of his roles portray some troubled teenager. He probably pulls some ideas for his acting from real life. If he plays in "Basketball Diaries," for example, he surely needs to see that world first, and be a total jerk. So I guess he's a very complex guy, being able to shift very fast from a saint to a jerk, sort of speaking... Maybe some Californians who met him directly could say more about him. I'm just taking an "educated guess" here.

A recent quote from Woody Allen:

On whether Leo is a nice guy: "I found him lovelycouldn't have been nicer to work with, sweet as could be. Cooperative, a good disposition, and a great actorhe is definitely gonna be around for a long, long time in a big, big way."

he's always complaining (like stars always do) that rumors are spread about him and are way out of control. if u read/listen 2 what his friends and other ppl say about him, they say he is sweet, funny, and loyal. and he hates when ppl judge him b/f they meet him. the only thing i hear is his joking can become a pain in the rear. he's not exactly "the most social person in the world" so he doesn't care about making new friends and i read he admitted he makes friends "very, very slowly."
