Flamingo and Seminole - info and photos wantedgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Central of Georgia Railway Historical Soc : One Thread |
I have several questions on the Flamingo passenger train. Does anyone have its exact discontinuance date? Also, why was the train listed throughout its later years in the Atlantic Coast Line passenger timetables as an ACL train, when in fact there were no through cars carried over the ACL after the late 1940s? After this date, all Flamingo cars terminated at Albany and passengers wanting to continue over the ACL had to make an across-the-platform transfer at Albany to the Seminole (or so it appears from public timetable info). Does anyone have any photos of the train in its last years? Ideally, standing at the Albany station with the Seminole showing as well? I also badly need 1950s-60s photos of the Seminole on the ACL or SCL between Albany and Jacksonville. Many thanks.
