My Winter Quarter contract for grade was not able to be completely filled. I was under the impression that I would have the rest of the school year to complete it but then I was told that I had to submit something at the end of the winter quarter. I had two parts to my contract for grade: attend a grant writing seminar and then write it up and work on the Lake Superior School District's upcoming bond election as a consultant and then write up a report reflecting on the process.

To date, the bond election work has not really started. I had an initial meeting with the Superintendent of the District and the official bond election consultant. We discussed the roles that we would play in the election process and set some preliminary dates for planning meetings that will involve members of the school board and the steering committee. The tentative date for the election is for June and therefore I will not be able to complete the process until this summer. I plan to keep notes on the process as it unfolds for my report. I have also been assigned the role of gofer and logistical cordinator for the Supt. and the lead bond election consultant. The lead consultant is a PHD who wrote his dissertation on running a successful bond election. It is about to get started but as of yet I am on hold. I will include with this update a copy of the bond election outline I have been working on for my company. Please note that it is still a work in progress.

As for the grant writing seminar, it has been postponed to the middle of March and therefore I will have to wait to write that up.

Overall, because of my initial impressions of the contract for grade, I chose to do work that does not fit into the time frame of winter quarter. I plan on having it complete as it can possibly be by the end of spring quarter.
