Heavenly Creatures

I saw Heavenly Creatures for the first time yesterday and I've got to admit, I only hired it out to see what Kate Winslet was like in another movie. I've got to say, she gave a fantastic performance, but I was really disturbed by the end.

Also, Kate was 17 when she filmed this and I couldn't help saying to myself during the movie "this is what Rose DeWitt Bukater should have looked like because she was only 17" and I've gotta say, Kate has grown up a lot since this was filmed.

But all in all, I give the movie an 8/10.

Ems, I recommend you "Jude." She has a very good role there, though it's a very intense drama... But good movie. And I've got to see "Sense and sensibility" yet.

Hi Dan,

I was thinking of checking Jude out as well, but I was concerned about it being one of those stale old movies that takes forever. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

Don't expect Jude to be uplifting, it could probably drive people to suicide. Rather intense, but Kate was very good in it.

I know how depressing Jude is, I've read all the reviews for it. It sounds really sad.

Heavenly Creatures is fantastic.

I bought it for Christmas and have watched it millions of times....It still gets me at the end though when Pauline beats her mother over the head and then....the 'innocent' Juliet crushes her skull and finishes her off....it's so tight to think that actually happened back in 1954...Jude is brilliant but extremely depressing and I couldn't watch it more than 2 times a year....its' too disturbing...especially what happens to their children....by the way....in Jude...the pig that is killed...is that real??

I think Kate is beautiful and talented in every film she's done!
