This link is to a wired news article about the new nanotechnology conference and several advances in the field. Every time I have mentioned nanotech in my posts, I have gotten email asking about it, so I think there is a good deal of interest in the subject here, even if it is a little off topic

Remember, just a couple of threads ago, the question was raised on how the press should promote better awareness of Y2K? The article offered by Paul on the upcoming nanotechnology conference might be a great chance for investigative journalism. Like asking these guys if the prediction that "microprocessors will reach the atomic level by about 2015" is factoring in the Y2K Affect. (And, Paul, if your tongue-in-cheek presentation of this article was meant to be sarcasm, sorry it went over my head.)

No sarcasm Jack, it is off the Y2K topic this board is about. And every time I post anything referring to a nanotech topic, I do get email asking for information about nanotech links. Usually I just send them to the NASA technical server which has hundreds of papers on nanotech and related subjects. BTW - the trick to reading a scientific paper on a subject where you don't want to know all the details, just the conclusion of the research, is to read the first paragraph and the summary at the end of the paper. Tells you 90% of what the researcher did without the details.
