Can't get Adaptec Easy CD creator to burn a VCD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have Easy CD Creator Deluxe and DVMPEG encoder (as well as Zing). When I burn the CD I can't get it to play in my Sony DVD player. It just sits there and then opens the tray. The MPEGAV directory does not have anything written to it. The SEGMENT directory dat files and the VCD directory has vcd files. I don't know what the correct directory structure should look like, but it doesn't work. Can some one educate me on how Easy CD creator deluxe should work. I can't even get ZING player to locate the VCD when I select open VCD.

I don't have an answer, but I am having the same problem with my Toshiba 3108. I also use Easy Cd Creator Deluxe and have already ruined 4 CDs trying to figure it out. I have tried everything I can think of, even putting the CD-I application on it. My player says it can play Video CDs, but nothing works...........

Are you sure the player can read the disc? My Phillips-Magnavox plays Video CDs but can't read CD-R, not even audio ones, but reads CD-RW. Try using one of those if your recorder supports them. I created a few Video CDs on CD-RW for my DVD player with no problem.
