Epson Digital Cameras

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am new to your site. Why do I not see Epson Digital Cameras on the list of "Digital Cameras" reviewed? Do I need to look elsewhere on the site?

Thanks

Sorry for the horrendously slow response on this! We're perpetually behind schedule on putting new cameras up. Manufacturers have to agree to cover costs for the (enormous) data traffic reviews on this site generate, and so far Epson hasn't "joined the club". My personal past experience with the Epson cameras was quite good though, and we hope they'll "see the light" soon!

When I was shopping for a bulk buy on digital cameras a year ago, the Epson proved to be the the most applicable for the job. Some of the features we were looking at were: Ease of use; Use in multiple light conditions; Durability; Price; Image quality.

I compared several other cameras with higher resolutions that did not have the clarity the Epson had. Of course, when you are imaging paint defects and casting flaws, this is a must.

I am sorry to here that without paid endorsement, err, I mean corporate underwriting, your site doesn't review potentially superior products. At that, your site doesn't do true comparison but rather advertising.

Happy Snapping,

Given the level of cooperation between the auto industry and the trade and enthusiast magazines, etc. the implication is a little disingenuous (sp?) (snotty). I think Dave has been upfront about the issues involved in running the site and unlike cars, we can do a real comparison of the results through downloads of the full files and reproductions on our own systems. Given the rather continuous good cooments about Epson printers, reasonable discussion of ink life and other topics, what makes me wonder is why Epson hasn't seen fit to participate, obviously the other manufacturers have and I haven't seen any puff pieces or punches pulled on critical comments! For what it's worth, I've always drooled over the RX-7s, would settle for a Miata and really wished I could both afford them and fit into them. Still happy snapping the good old fashioned analog/chemical way!
