Why the ridiculous and unreadable font?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Courier Times Online Feedback : One Thread

Congrats on trying to build a new format for the paper. Most of us aren't afraid of change, and we're delighted that you are interested in providing a broader service in a reader-friendly paper. Alas, you blew it in choosing the new font for text and headlines. It's unreadable, plain and simple.

Please, get something that wears well, day after day. Please, abandon the stuff that some designer-consultant thinks is pretty but that we can't decode without a magnifying glass at the breakfast table.

And hurry! A friendly and open mea culpa, followed by an immediate change to readability, would go a long way in winning us all back!

I agree with the opinion that the font is unreadable. I couldn't figure out whether I needed my glasses changed or what? Please do something soon or loose a reader.

I have been reading the Courier Times on a daily basis for at least 30 years. Change can be good. But, the font style is hard on the eyes, and more difficult to read. Sorry.
