Reality Check E-mail from Gary North today - Read it?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Well, I finally got signed up for Gary North's Reality Check e-mail bulletin. I had my socks blown off by all the information in this 15 page newsletter today. Did any of you receive it and what are your thoughts and comments on it? My husband and I were just talking yesterday that even though our mortgage is almost paid in full, we should consider re-financing our home because we may end up losing it all if Y2K gets as bad as some predict. At least this way we could get the money out of it ahead of time and lock it away. If rioters burn down my house my insurance company will never be able to pay me back so why should we not take out all available equity? Any comments would be appreciated. Mary

It was quite a read wasn't it. I wanted to sell our house this summer but my wife disagreed. Thats OK.. her option. Anyway, I will be buying puts on the S&P index futures. Lots of them. Timing will be everything here. I love the way the market is rising..further to fall. May be able to pay off the morgage after all.

I signed up for it but I haven't received it. Can I talk someone into attaching it to an email and sending it to me?

Might as well hit the credit cards, too.

I missed the signup. Actually I tried twice and my messages bounced. Any ideas how I can still get this newsletter? I couldn't find a spot on Gary's site to sign up again. Thanks

Help! I ordered and received GN's e-mail but I get an "Internal Server Error" or something when I try to open the attachment. Have other people had this problem? Could someone please send me the report as an e-mail rather than as an attachment? Thanks. Mary Smith mary200@hotmail.com

I get the same effect. It must be the hotmail service. BTW, If someone could email me a copy I'd be apreciative. Thanks

I tried several times but haven't received a thing either. Help!

I kust sent this to mike at webflier@erols.com and ask him to pass it on down the list.

I would take Gary's advice - most of it anyway - still weighing up what to do.

For what it's worth I already have my 401k in a money market account (0% interest - but who cares?) and am cashing out completely in January '99.

Cheers me dears.

I love Gary North! He's not afraid to tell the brazen truth about this issue. I'd truly appreciate the newsletter in an e-mail from anyone who'll send it, I need all the ammunition I can get, as I'm trying to open many people's eyes before it's too late. Please send to MzDiva2000@aol.com

Many Thanks, S. St. Victor
