Spring Run Swamp at Wakulla Springs, just south of Tallahassee, Fl. Canon AE1, 20 mm, Velvia. A nice place to visit: historic lodge on a beautiful springs near St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge.

very nice shot. i personally would prefer the tree a little off center. were you standing in the water when you took this? I imagine with a 20mm lens you had to be standing pretty close.

Maybe it's just my monitor, but everything past the tree just seems to have a lot of glare or something. Except for a few spots at the base of the tree, there's not enough of the lower end of the tonal range.

What I like about the image are the emphasis on the tree flaring down into the water and the texture of the green speckles floating on the water at the base of the tree.

Yes, the centered tree is a bit disturbing: my eyes dart from one side to the other and find nothing. The main tree is also not interesting enough (in this light) to warrent being such a strong part of the photo - I wonder what the photo would look like sans tree, or perhaps an off-centre stump. Certainly I find the background interesting.
