Can't get Toshiba PDR-2 PC card recognized by Compaq1235; Windows 98

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Toshiba's PDR-2 works by inserting the camera into the PCMCIA card slot; but my Compaq 1235 with windows 98 won't recognize it in the slot. I believe it is supposed to recognize it as a PC card storage drive, but I've been unable to get anywhere. Windows setup doesn't list it; the cd's with the camera don't seem to have any drivers and "searching for new hardware" in W '98 doesn't work either. Any ideas? Thanks.

Compaq is doing something funky with their systems. Also, the PDR-2 was made way before W98 was even out so it is not necessarially meant to be used with W98. You can call tech support at 800-829-8318 for more info.
