Client Server product compliance

Just been updating our inventory with actions taken/to be taken etc, out of 220 mission critical C/S software packages/applications/Op systems etc in use throughout the company 69 require y2k action, ie fixes, upgrade or replacement. How does this compare with anybody else's findings?

Don't forget the routers, hubs and ATM switches.

Just out of curiosity - how many of the problems were with operating systems?

The following require y2k patches or upgrade: Novell Netware, 2.15, 3.11, 4.11 3.12, Sun Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6 SunOS 4.1.2, 4.1.4, HP Unix 9.04, 10.10, OS/2 2.1, Warp, Warp 4, Warp 4 server, SCO V/386 Unix. Cisco router 4000 series requires IOS 11.X, ITK Netblazer router requires OS 3.3 to be compliant. Much of the comms hardware does not contain date processing, the OS might as above. Managed network service SMDS (BT) VPN managed telephone service (Energis), MAT comms package (BT) all need to be made compliant.

Oh yes and Open VMS 6.2 & 7 OS isn't compliant.

Thanks Richard. I am probably going to a Novell 5 presentation here in Memphis in a couple of weeks - just noticed they already have two patches for Novell 5 posted under support. ARRGGGGHHHHH. I am getting very tired of applying patches to network operating systems. Why oh why can't they just work out the bugs BEFORE they release the darn things!
