Camphor Laurels and Chooks

greenspun.com : LUSENET : David's Organic Forum : One Thread

I have a chook yard which is shaded by a large Camphor Laurel. I have been told that if the chooks eat the black berries it can kill the chook and contaminate the egg.

Does anyone know if this is the case?

Thankyou, Julieanne

camphor laurels and chooks

My chooks have been browsing amongst the camphors for years and I have never noticed and effects. That doesn't mean the eggs aren't contaminated but I haven't tasted anything odd. David.
