Tried...

Tried to post on other thread but it didn't fly...so I'll just post my peace... here. Nightline...great from Olmsteda Lord and other point of view...Koskinen...rubbish...horse noises...nip noises...

The feds are dooming themselves by not being honest...by not leveling with people...preparedness is not panic, in fact preparedness prevents panic....university studies confirm it.

Koskinen was a government robot...why did anyone expect otherwise?

Work your communities and neighborhoods my dear hearts....as we already knew...

Good that this is out in the mainstream...but just enough "all is okay " to foment apathy...

Hollar loud to your community please...they will help insure your survival....

Donna, I completely agree with you!

I saw Koskinen today on CNBC... wow, he is a mechanical man huh? He looks like a giant head on a little body, kind of like a humanoid Pez dispenser.

We need to get the ball rolling here in L.A. I still haven't heard anything from the County etc.

Orange County CEO for Information Services was jooy when speaking to the Fullerton City Council, but did say he was gonna have $500 out of bank, and some water,...and not fly or be in the hospital. AND he said, along with every other person speaking before the council that "if we have electricity, we'll be able to work with the other problems". Haven't heard anything about LA country, or specifically MWD which supplies water all over S. California...

Humpty Dumpty was pushed!

Donna - I followed up via e-mail with Oceanside's Director of IS this week and will march on down to the next Council meeting if he doesn't produce some satisfactory answers in the next day or two. We've got two Councilcritters up for election, so I figure they're currently fairly sensitive to noisy members of the electorate.

Here's hoping that you, Michael, and myself will have a chance to discuss "how successful our efforts were" sometime late in January, 2000.
