I am a beginner photographer. I am taking a Black & White class. One of our assignments is a Pan picture. I am looking for some neat, unique ideas. Everyone does car racing or bike racing....... Any good suggestions??

This a good question. There are common themes like birds or people running ect. but some of the most unique 'pan' works that I have seen were in a book by John Hilliard (I think!). He would make unique diptychs such as having a woman open a fan so that it would be blurred then he would have her repeat the same thing except pan with the fan so that she was blurred. He did many unusual movement experiments like this and it was startling. You might try something like a very long exposure of a large clock where you rotate the camera to follow the second hand etc. Anything that moves is fair game and you could probably find many unique objects in your own home. Good luck and have fun with it.

Oh, that's what you mean. This being a still-photo sight, I assumed you meant a picture of a little guy with hairy goat legs and horns.
