Anywhere between $200 and $2000. Pets (cats not to be used for breeding) are generally between $200 and $500. Kittens that have been screened for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and hip dysplasia are more expensive. You get what you pay for. If you buy from a breeder who's just interested in producing kittens you'll pay less; if you buy from a reputable breeder who screens his cats for health problems, raises them in optimum conditions, and takes extra care to make sure they're well-socialized, healthy, and happy, you'll pay more and you'll have a kitten who will give years of pleasure.

Just as with anything else, quality and care costs more.
