This is out of the newly passed House bill on Y2K:

The bill:

--Urges the president to encourage business to come up with contingency plans should they fail to have their computer systems ready in time.

--Urges the president to provide leadership by aggressively promoting Y2K awareness.

--Requires all federal agencies to report their progress in meeting the deadline to Congress.

What can I say Gayla. They are certainly running me ragged asking for info all the time already. Yeah, I am one of the guys who supplies the info the bill asks for. US Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District - contractor for network services - that be me.

If he's going to act on those requests, it would be next week. Oct. 19-23 is Y2K Action Week. Details at http://www.itpolicy.gsa.gov/mks/yr2000/y2khome.htm

"Celebrate Y2K Action Week!" yeah right...yay, pop the champagne...

Is that really something you want to brag about, Paul?

Yada, yada, yada ....

Actually I was complaining. I would have a lot more time to check on things and fix them if they would stop demanding the same information over and over in a different format each time.
