Has anyone used the Casio QV-7000SX?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I'm interested in the QV-7000SX now that Casio put in the expandable memory (even if it did away with the viewfinder). Has anyone seen the quality of this camera's pics or is it pretty much the same guts as the 5000SX?

I think much the same guts as the 5000SX, but don't know for sure. Casio's supposed to send us one to review, keep your fingers crossed that they'll follow through... (Looks like a pretty cool device!)

I purchased the qv7000sx about two weeks ago (having moved up from an old qv-11!). Although I cannot compare it to the 5000, the 7000sx is an incredible machine! Crisp, colorful shots, mini-movies, panaroma ability, nice metering ability (its not easy to fool, even with tricky shots). Got a nice deal on Lexar's 32Mb CompactFlash card; the casio has no trouble using it (in fact, it seems to be a faster write than with the 8mb card it comes with). I recommend this camera very highly! Note: check out Enroute's QuickStitch program to augment casio's bundled software for stitching together photos: http://www.enroute.com/ (QuickStitch is a must have for any digital!)
