I would like to know which digital cameras have a true optical zoom. I finally understand the difference between digital and optical zoom. I want to be able to keep my high resolution and be able to have zoom capabilities. Is it possible at this point of digital camera technology? Thanks

If you check our "Feature Matrix", you'll get some indication of this. If we list a range of focal lengths (eg, 38-110mm), then it's a true optical zoom. We generally say which cameras have digital zooms, although I notice that we missed making any comment about zoom on the Toshiba PDR-M1 (it has a 2x digital.)
