Lubboc texas Power?

In congressional hearings last friday, Oct. 3, a spokesman from Lubboc (spelled that way?) texas (I believe) was talking to the committee about the detailed emergency simulation they ran for the whole town in case of massive y2k failures. I may have mis understood him, but I thought he said that they were pleasantly surprised to find that their electric utility supplier was compliant. Anybody else see this?

Yes, Lubbock Texas ran a successful simulation of what "disasters might occur. None of the city services were actually turned off or 911-service shut off, or street lights down, etc. It was only simulated for planning "low-tech solutions" to high tech problems. The City Manager, Mr. Cass, did testify before the Senate Y2K Committee in Washington and musch of that information can be read @ www.ci.lubbock.tx.us and follow the links to City Manager
