Can a K2000 sample itself?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Kurzweil Users : One Thread

I have heard about the Kurzweil's K-series machines being able to sample themselves -- that is, you can take a complicated patch and record it into a waveform. Is this possible on the K2000 or K2000VP, or only on the K2500? Does the sampling / digital i/o option do this, or can it do it?

Only the K2500 can do resampling, without leaving the machine. The only way that you could do that with a K2000 is to record something outside of the machine and then sample it back into the K2000.

There is a little trick though that could work for you: Build up your super big layered program. Go to the sample page. Play the keyboard, then hit the record button. You'll actually be able to record "some" of that sound. It may be just enough.

Have fun and thanks for using this users forum,
