follow the money

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

The recent fiasco in England whereby a program announced last March to recruit 20,000 "bug busters" to do Y2K remediation, and has so far only managed to produce only 26 people, coincides with another trend that I have been noticing. Namely, the money to "fix" Y2K is being allocated (and well publicized), but the actual SPENDING is woefully lacking -- which indicates that the work is not getting done. Does anyone have any data on this that could be shared here? Thanks.
