Let's try this again... Rick, can you give us your summary of the NERC report? What is your current assessment of the industry? Are we looking at a good chance that our utilities will make it, given the increased awareness and effort, or are we still "dancing on the edge of the canyon" to use Dick Mills' phrase?

Any answer will be greatly appreciated.

Bob, I'm not Rick. In an email dated two weeks ago he said that TAVA/RW Beck had landed a big remediation job of "strategic importance." Consequently, I think it's "all hands on deck!" right now.

I ran across a story that quotes him on the subject, although not regarding the NERC report. In the September 17 edition of the News and Observer (Raleigh, NC), Rick was quizzed about what might happen.

The URL is - http://web.lexis-nexis.com/more/cahners/11372/3787439/27.

In fairness to Rick, I won't paraphrase, so refer to the URL. Incidentialy, the article mispells his last name as "Cowley" but unless there IS a Rick Cowley working for TAVA, it's Rick Cowles. Hope this helps.

Also, I discovered that Rick Cowles will have an indepth review of the NERC report posted at some point in the future on Y2K Today web site. It can be reach through Yahoo. I would suppose he would also post that on his sight, but the report doesn't say.
