DIGITAL OUTS AND RECORDING A SEQUENCE WITH A SETUP

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Kurzweil Users : One Thread

Hi Mike,

It looks like you are starting a new forum. this is a great idea, one would think that there should be a gigantic kurzweil forum in place, but i can't find one.

I have a 2500sx and have such confusing info on the digital outs on the kurz... I only need stereo digital outs that are clean to go into the mac.

I was recently told that the kdfx can't be used as a digital out to bypass the not so hot a to d... digitec converter outs, and get a great clean digital out that i can go directly into the mac with. I was told i need the pricy dmti instead. It seems from this information you posted, and from i thought i understood from kurz that i could get the kdfx option and use it for a digital out.. and get some good efx as well. any thoughts?

If i just used the optical outs and converted to spdif in on the 2408 would i still be going through the a to d...da.da.da digitec converter sequence?

THANKS... JOHN LANDGRAF

PS: GETTING THIS FORUM GOING WOULD BE A COOL THING.

Sorry for the delay in answering your question. It appears that I missed a number of posts to this forum. I have a feeling that I answering your question privately through email, but never on this list.

When the sampling rate of the k2500 is set to 48kHz...you are bypassing the digitech completely...no mattter which digital out you are using...SPDIF or AESEBU!! You do not need the DMTi to bypass the digitech.
