Where do I start?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Southern Railway : One Thread

My grandfather, Thomas Watson Glover, was a train man on the Charleston & Western Carolina and was killed by being knocked off a train in December of 1917. Our family knows very little else and would like to research any references anywhere to this event. Any suggestions as to where to go for info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I suggest you urn first to newspaper accounts of the incident. These should be readily availible in the area where the accident occurred. I recently ehard that the VPI library may also have some employee records--good luck with your search.
