EXIF is a special flavor of JPEG that (I think) includes additional standardized info about the exposure in the file header. I think it also ties-down some of the variability in the JPEG spec a bit. Unfortunately I don't have a specific site for you to visit to get the spec itself. You might try www.hotbot.com or www.altavista.digital.com (major search engines) to search-out pages on the spec. Another possibility: Pegasus Software has a site (again, try a search engine to find it), and they specialize in JPEG software. They'll likely try to pitch you on their own set of tweaks to JPEG, but would probably know where to get a copy of the formal EXIF spec.

Good Luck!

(Anyone else out there have a better answer for Larry?)
