Tri-X and Acufine

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

If anyone out there wants Tri-X to produce grainy, yet easy to print images, with very nice tones here are a few formulas to try:

The acufine I use is the stock solution mixed according to the Can.

ISO 1000 Tri-X 1 to 1 Acufine 10 minutes at 70 deg F

ISO 1600 Tri-X 1 to 1 Acufine 14 minutes at 70 deg F

ISO 3200 Tri-X 1 to 1 Acufine 21 minutes at 70 deg F

Be very careful with the developed film as the emulsion is soft particularly with the 21 minute developing time. You may notice increased fog in the 3200 version. But the grain is very nice in the resulting prints.
