Have anyone actually read the vampire book by Anne Rice? What's the title? What exactly DOES Savage Garden mean?

I read it awhile ago. It was a good book, very exciting. Disgusting at times but I became used to it after a few chapters. The book was about Lestat de Lioncourt (You might know him from the movie "Interview with the Vampire", Tom Cruise) and his life before and after he became a vampire. The cool thing about Anne Rice novels is that you see things from the vampire's view. Although he's going around killing people you still cheer him on. Savege Garden is how Lestat defines the world he lives in. Here's a quote: "We are the same terrible and deadly beings,... we were wandering in the Savage Garden..." The whole novel deals a lot with music. Lestat himself was a rock singer. I think this inspired Darren more than the actual story. There are a lot of different "sounds" in the novel. You can hear them clearly through words. Sorry, you probably don't know what I'm blabbering about. I recommend book. It's good for pleasure reading.

That's an interesting question, SgGirl. Like I said before, it might be the fact that the vampire was a rock star that inspired Darren. And again, music is very important in the novel. The way Anne wrote it, you can hear the music in your head. I really don't know how to answer your question except that we all have a Savage Garden inside ourselves. A special place where we live, where we call home. I think SG music strive to do just that. To make us feel and bring us to this special place. I know this sounds abstract, so I really suggest you read the book. For those who read it, you might not agree with me and that's ok. Just use your imagination.

But how does it really relate to Savage Garden? I don't think their music is "savage" at all. So Savage Garden is the world the vampires lives in. How does that connect to the band itself?
Sorry to bother you with all these questions, I haven't read the book so..
