We've seen two rattlesnakes this year, and have heard of many other reports. At least one San Pedro Creek dog has learned about them the hard way this year. I've always heard that there's a period of time during the fall, when the weather really cools that they call the "dog days". Apparently the slowed down rattlesnakes often will not rattle a warning during this transition.
