Because the lily is the only thing in clear focus here, the rest of the elements in the photo must be neutral or support it in some way. IMO, they don't. Cropping out the lily bloom itself is a better picture.

Yes. My eyes are drawn to the bright green leaves on the right side of the photo. Cropping the right half of the photo makes for a less distracting picture.
