AMC, or American Movie Classics is a cable channel that runs old movies in their entirety without commercial interuption (although I'm feeling a bit old now since they ran "Breaking Away" a few weeks ago!). It may not be available in Canada. Too bad, since I've been watching the TV guide for months hoping to find ANTR somewhere. It's been a long wait. This is the first time I've seen it offered. If you want it for free - better set those VCRs!

Hello All:

I don't know of a Canadian affiliate but I can tell you this is a great channel. They have commentary on the film showing before and after with side stories about the stars and little known facts about the film. The best thing though, as I have mentioned, is that it runs the film from pillar to post with no interruption which is something that is rare in this day and age. They have some great classics and I have sat up many a night watching them when I should have been in bed, sleeping and preparing for the next day's work. I have been watching the listings for months looking for "A Night To Remember" and have not seen it anywhere so this is an opportunity that I won't pass up! One film I wish they would air is "The High And The Mighty" with Robert Stack and John Wayne among other notables. This 1950's film was the forerunner of all the aircraft disaster flicks and, although outdated by today's standards, was a great film with a great musical score (Dimitri Tiompkin). I have not seen this anywhere since the world was flat!
