Does anyone know if windows 95 and NT are y2k compliance?How about windows 98?What does this mean for systems running on them and how can you tell.

You might want to check the following site, Gordon. One of the things you'll find is there is a (sometimes big) difference between compliant and Y2K ready. At any rate, MS has put up a site with information on most of their products.

Yes, check to Microsoft Web site. (As I recall NT is compliant as of version 3.51, 95 requires a patch which can be downloaded from the MS Web site.

In addition to having a compiant operating system, you also need compliant hardware and applications. There are tools available to check the hardware:

PC Magazine has a free tool to use with Windows 95. http://www.zdnet.com/vlabs/y2k/testy2k.html

National Software Testing Labs has a free tool that can be used on any IBM compatible machine. http://www.nstl.com/html/ymark_2000.html

Then check with each of companies that provided the applications you are running to see if the applications need to be upgraded.
