Definition of Idea

In a conversation in an AOL message board where i argued that there should be NO copywright laws [ Hakim Bey is to be applauded for obtaining an ANTI-copywright] i pointed out that we humans merely reflect and express ideas with our minds we do NOT create or construct them and that ideas are PRE-existent.

Therefore it is a mistake to speak of "your" ideas or "my" ideas , since NO one can be said to own an idea in all honesty.

It was asked then , "What is an idea?"

The following answer was presented :

An idea is a pre-existent , either thematically [or meta-thematically] specific, definitional focal point by which one or more prescriptive principles is exemplified and by which also either a single attribute or set of attributes is brought into play.
