'Titanic' Star Visits Gymnast

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Movie star and teen heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio went to the hospital Thursday night to visit Sang Lan, the Chinese gymnast paralyzed after a fall during the Goodwill Games, according to the New York Daily News. Sang, 17, was injured July 21 after she landed on her head while practicing vaults before her event at the Goodwill Games. DiCaprio's publicist told the newspaper that the star of ``Titanic'' asked to visit Sang after seeing a report that she is a fan. The young actor spent about an hour in Sang's room at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Center in Manhattan.

Well, good for him. I'm always glad to see someone who has new found fame do a little to pay that back. I know this was a request from the young lady and I'm happy to see that young Mr. Dicaprio took the high road. I wish the best for this athlete as this must be a devastating time for her and her family.

Regards, Peter
