How did Rose remain incognito as an actress???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread

What I want to know is...how is it that Rose was never found by her mother or any of the first class survivors that knew her if she bacame an actress??? Now...I know the 20's were different as far as fame went, and she changed her name; but didn't any of these people go to "the motion pictures" back then? It just seems like SOMEONE might have recognized her...

Any theories?

Gilded, maybe she was a lousy actress (and not a movie actress), and not known by many. Also she could have married Mr. Calvert early and not been an actress for long.

Nowadays living in a world-village it may be hard to believe Rose could stay incognito. In the 20s IMHO it would have been easier. In a 20s movie, with period movie makeup she would not resemble herself too much. Same goes for newspaper pictures. And some people just didn't go to the 'moving pictures'. Some religions prohibit it.

I've wondered about this point too, to give it its due ...
