Israel is considered to be an intelligent, alert nation. How prepared are they for y2k? Does anyone know the level of civilian concern ?

Good question, I remeber reading something about there military seperating itself from the rest of society so they could provide defense without being corrupted by civilian computer problems.

Here's the story Vic was referring to: http://www.globes.co.il:80/cgi-bin/Serve_Archive_Arena/pages/English/1.2.1.7/19980716/1

The Army does plan to operate independently of the nation's infrastructure. They also plan to be ready by the end of this year because they feel Year 2000 problems will begin 1/1/1999.

Sorry, no info about the status of Israel as a whole.
