Wonderful. Very nice. A little too centered for my tastes... But I love the ethereal quality of the trees/grass and the low wide-angle perspective.

The sun (?) at the top of the frame is a little distracting, but nothing that can't be fixed when the print is matted and framed, maybe...

Sort of action photography, even though it's a landscape. Dramatic, full of life, excellent! (Reminds me of the best classic landscape paintings and photographs.)

Seems to me the interest of this image is in the dark weight of the tree trunks juxtaposed with the empty space under the arching branch. Possibly a longer focal length would help to emphasize the trees in the far distance (through the arching branch), and would eliminate some distractions (such as all the empty sky at top right).

Thanks for the compliments.

There are a couple of things that I would do to this picture:

1. Crop the left side a little. (post-exposure)
2. Move to the left a little bit, so that cloud at the top of the frame (it is a cloud, not the sun, as has been suggested) is not in an awkward spot. (Pre-exposure)
3. Shoot this exact photo about 1 - 1.5 hours earlier, when the sun was higher. With IR film, you get the most dramatic scenes in in bright sunlight. It's the opposite of other films. If I had taken this photo earlier, The leaves would have been white, and yet the branches and trunks would still be black. The resulting contrast would have been interesting. (pre-exposure)

It's hard to find Nature shots within the DC city limits. But I have some non-nature infrared photos at:

My favorites are non-nature shots.
