Polariod vs Kodak inkjet paper comparison

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Has anyone had the opportunity to test the inkjet papers of Kodak and Polariod. I have read the PR release from Polariod and they claim that there paper has and ultraviolet protectant built in that gives it an advantage over any over product on the market. I myself have used the Kodak injet paper and have found it to be excellent. I am looking for someone who can compare the two papers.

Just noticed that this question had never been answered, sorry to ignore you for so long!

I've played with both papers in my elderly Epson Photo Stylus II, and found the Polaroid worked better *with that printer*. Note the emphasis on printer model - from what I've seen, paper performance varies widely depending on printer manufacturer and ink formulation: Different inks respond to different papers **very** differently. About the best advice I can give you is to go out and buy a pack of the Polaroid paper and try in in your printer. Both papers give very nice results, but I was surprised at the difference in color rendition between the two: On the Epson Stylus, color saturation was much higher on the Polaroid paper than on the Kodak. I've also seen the exact opposite from a friend's printer, although I don't remember what model he printed from.

Ihave an HP photosmart 1215 printer. I tried epson paper, kodak paper and polariod paper and I find that polariod gloss that I bought at BJ's produced a much better picture.
