I need to buy a camera for my business in the next week or so. I need the camera to take pictures of different products that we produce. Most products are 1" x 7" so a macro lens capability is -I am assuming- pretty important. I will be using the images to create marketing materials (full-color catalogs, press releases and a web site). I have never used a DC so some advice would be nice.

If you have any suggestions for the ideal camera, I'd appreciate it. To narrow down the responses, I am looking to spend about $700.

It offers interchangeable lenses and manual f-stop and external flash sync - all of which are ESSENTIAL for this type of photography.
