Guidelines for Public Art Programgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Public Art : One Thread
Chatham County, North Carolina is looking to begin a public art program that will take advantage of the talented art community settled within the county. We have a wide range of artists, from potters to graphic artists. We would like to display art from local artists in and around government buildings. Does anyone have information on beginning a program such as this, copies of guidelines for donations of artwork, or local ordinances governing "percent for art" programs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If yu have not already located the information you need, you can:
1. Check the back issues of Public Art on the Internet which include several copies of ordinances.
2. Access a comparison of municipal-level percent for art programs at http://www.cachh.org/specific_tables.html#Comparison.
3. Contact me about my publication, Directory of Percent for Art and Art in Public Places Programs, which can be helfpful [It includes art in public buildings programs]. Telephone 203-866-4822.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE SET UP ANY TYPE OF PROGRAM SO I CAN LIST IT IN THE DIRECTORY.
