What is your favorite scriptural passage? What is the text you always look to for comfort, reassurance, joyful gratitude? For me, it is always a line in the psalms "O lord you made me and you know me...it was you who created my inmost self..." And in revelations..."be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life: {Pax}, Dana

One passage? Wow, I can tell you that I love the Canticle of Canticles (Song of Solomon), in which you can see the love Jesus and Mary bear one another.

"It makes me happy to be suffering for you now, and in my own body to fill up what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ for the sake of his body, the Church." (Colossians 1:24)

I praise God that it's only since beginning to read Catholic books and theology that the mystery of suffering has begun to make sense: that we can voluntarily join our sufferings to those of our Lord Jesus and become part of His atonement. What an incredible thing that is!

"But Jesus said to him, 'If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him who believes.' At once the father of the boy cried out, and said with tears, 'I do believe; help my unbelief.'" [Mark 9:22-23]. When we petition God for help with our everyday trials, He tells us that we must ask in faith. And many times it is difficult to believe, to have that kind of complete faith in God. And so God will actually give us faith, or help the insufficient faith we do have. Amazing.
