YES! Mary is the more virtuest person that ever lived. She was not God therefore she was human therefore, her living the life she lived in abstaining from ALL sin, is the greatest Saint. How many of us can abstain from sin for One day?

Mary is more than just a Saint, she is the Mother of God!

A canonization is really a formal declaration by the Church that the person in question is in Heaven (i.e. not Purgatory... or Hell). We know that Mary was assumed into Heaven body and spirit, so naming her a Saint of the Church would be foolish.

The Church uses three Greek words to describe the devotion we have to different persons. Latria is the homage to God alone. Dulia is the homage to the Saints. Mary alone, as the holiest of all created things, deserves hyperdulia.
