Anyone interested? Y2K on TV 7/10/98

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

On Friday, July 7, 700 Club will give its entire hour to Y2K, with Senator Robert Bennett as guest. This is available on the Family Channel, 10:00 am PT, and 11:00 pm. It is also on TBN, 12:00 noon PT. On August 7, same times, they will again have an hour-long, this time on Y2K and The Role of The Church.

My wife saw a y2k story on the 700 Club 7-10 days ago. She took from that show that the nuclear power plants were going to be prepared. That goes against most everything I have read/viewed about nuclear power. Is she right?

Thanks to a couple of alert people who Emailed me, I must correct the first date above--it is Friday, July 10, not 7. I must have been looking at the August date when I typed that...excuses, excuses! Regarding the question by the next person: As I recall, the statement on 700 Club was a mandate has gone out that nuclear power plants are to be ready or they are to be shut down, and I think the deadline is July 1, 1999. I don't know if that also means they are to have been tested!

From my own viewing of the 700 Club, I know that Senator Bennett will not be the only guest on that Y2K show. Peter de Jager, Canadian Y2k expert and one of the first individuals to warn of this impending problem (as far back as 1991) will also be a guest. I believe that none of us should miss this!

To Clark Justin Sturz:

Thanks for the heads up.

Saw the special this morning and it is very informative! Touches on personal and community preparedness, interviews with DeJaeger & Bruce Webster plus simple explanation of what y2k is all about. This would be excellent to tape and share with friends/family who are skeptical. Also, the 700 Club offers a 7page fact sheet(free) on y2k. In our area the 700 Club airs twice daily, 9am and 10 pm...check your local listings, you might still be able to catch it.
