Titanic Sequel?

I found this at KWFC (Kate Winslet Fan Club) and thought some of you might be interetsted in it.

Titanic Sequel? Nah..Hollywood bosses plan a Titanic sequel - in which Leonardo DiCaprio comes back from the dead. They plan to offer the 23 year-old star #21 million to recreate his movie role as hero Jack Dawson. A script has not yet been written, but executives at Paramount have already fleshed out a storyline for Titanic II. In it, according to America's Globe magazine, Jack is rescued from the sea and spends three years in a coma. He suffers amnesia, but a year later remembers his lost love Rose from the Titanic. Paramount is split over whether to hire Kate Winslet again to play Rose. She may be replaced by one of Hollywood's A-list stars like Gwyneth Paltrow or Winona Ryder. (June 29, 1998)

This has just got to be a joke, right? I mean, we saw Jack go under and seeing as how he wasn't wearing a lifejacket or anything, how do they propose bringing him back to life. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't work. If there was to be a sequel, it should be about Rose and what happened to her after the Titanic, with her marrying and having lots of babies. I discussed this with a fellow fan and we came up with the idea that Mr Calvert should be played by Harrison Ford, because that's the only guy we'd be happy seeing Rose with after Jack.

I agree with Emma!

Thanks Dan! I knew I could count on you :-)

Perhaps I could go see that movie when it opens at the new Bally Titanic Resort in Las Vegas on Feb. 30, 1999. But I may still be tired from that 10K NOW Race Against Prostate Cancer charity run....

I think a sequel would ruin the whole thing for me, especially if Gwyneth Paltrow played Rose. She had her chance!

You speak my mind, Emma. Whoever thinks he can profit from this project must be crazy. Besides, who wants to Leo live anyways. ;-)

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. And Gwyneth Paltrow as Rose???!!!! Ha ha ha ha. What a joke!!!

Somebody please tell me that this is just a vicious rumor! My stepmother says she even heard this on TV. I didn't believe her, but she insisted she heard it. I said James Cameron was too smart to try to create a sequel to Titanic, but she said he was going to direct the sequel. It's bad enough to try to make a sequel in the first place, but who would be stupid enough to make this sequel without Kate Winslet as Rose?

As Rose would say, "This is absurd!" How could anybody think of bringing Jack back from the dead? I mean, I love Titanic so much and I don't want to see it turned into a science fiction movie! I think a sequel would be very entertaining as I can't get enough of Titanic, but I think it would ruin it...and I don't think any sequel made could live up to Titanic!

P.S: Cal is HOT! yes...i'm a Cal fan, sad but true i'm afraid...but i know if i was Rose, i surely would've married Cal without question...I mean Leo is hot but his character Jack is poor! But look at Cal...rich, powerful and oh so sexy!

If Titanic had a sequel and had Gwyneth Paltrow play the part as Rose, it would totally ruin the whole magic of the first film. The reason for this is because, everytime I would think of Rose from Titanic, I would think of both Gwyneth and Kate. Another reason that I wouldnt like it as much as the first film is because Kate Winslet established Rose as the charactor... and if it wasnt for Kate, there would NEVER be a Rose! All I'm saying is that nobody could ever fill the shoes as Rose better than Kate Winslet did in the first Titanic.
