as a retired person (63) just finacing a new home (25 years) one year ago and a credit card load near 30 k being paid from ss as only income also no other income or assests. no savings. all have gone south in a failed buisness.

You need to get rid of your credit card debt right away! If you can keep your home, the best bet may be to file for bankruptcy. If your only source of income is Social Security, your debt payments will take most of it away.
