Olympus D-500L vs. Sony Mavica FD71 for macro work

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have heard of trouble with focusing the Olympus D-500L in macro mode. At a trade show, I asked for a macro demonstration, and the demonstrator couldn't get sharp macro focus. How does the Sony Mavica FD-71 compare for close work? I hear no complaints about focus with the FD-7, just jagged images. Does the FD-71 fix that? How about a review on the Sony Mavica FD-71? Thanks!

I am also unable to get a good macro focus with my Olympus D 600. I tried a screw thread on a 5 mm screw. I then used my Canon photo lens, put the Ectachrome image on Kodak CD Rom and then used PowerPoint. When I use the digital focus it may want to focus where I don't want it to focus. On the Canon I can always overirde the autofocus with a manual focus, especially with a copy stand.
