James Cameron has indicated that he expects to return to feature filmmaking in about a year and may decide to make a film driven by script and acting rather than by special effects. In an interview appearing in today's (Friday) Toronto Globe and Mail, Cameron, who is to receive an honorary doctorate from Ryerson Polytechnic University's School of Image Arts today, expressed admiration for fellow Canadian Atom Egoyan's low-budget The Sweet Hereafter, which he described as "tremendously powerful, with only one effects shot when the bus breaks through the ice. I admire that discipline."

Answers

Directors have different styles. Cameron is known for his special effects. Where would film be today without the Camerons, Spielbergs and Lucas' of the world? I enjoy a popcorn flick just as much as an art film. Both, in different ways, have just as much to offer the movie goer.

Good point, though I've never heard the "Oratorio". Does it suck? I imagine it to sound like St. Pepper with traditionally trained singers...oh, the pain!
