I am interested in any information and/or photographs of the Atlantic and Yadkin Railway between Sanford and Mt. Airy, NC.

In particular, I would like answers to the following questions:

1. how did the A&Y handle stone from the quarry at Mt. Airy? Flatcar? gondola?

2. did the A&Y have any cabs or mow equipment lettered for the A&Y? (the A&Y was owned by the Southern Railway and was only independent from 1916-1950) If so, what did they have and how was it lettered and painted?
