I heard somewhere that there is a product launched using a 35 mm casette to record digital images using a normal camera (without aut-transport). Is there any information about this product available?

Yeah, go to http://www.imagek.com it will hold about 30 images at 1,280 X 1,024 for less than $1,000. It uses a CMOS sensor and is supposed to ship this summer.
