Hi Dan! Is there any news about when we can expect it to hit stores in Australia? We're normally a few months behind the rest of the world. Thanks.

I don't know, Emma! You'll have to ask the Aussies there at the videostores.

Response to "TITANIC" TO LAUNCH ON VIDEO IN SEPT.

James Cameron also said at Mondays press conference that he plans to release a version of Titanic with at least 20 minutes of unused footage. I don't know if this is for theaters or cd rom? He is also planning to release a cd rom of the real footage he took of the wreckage. I got this info from AP news wire.

AN EVEN LONGER TITANIC?

James Cameron confirmed Monday that the home-video version of Titanic, priced for "sell through" at between $20-$30, will be released on Sept. 1 -- supported by a record $50-million marketing campaign -- and that he eventually plans to release a special edition of the movie that will include as much as 20 minutes of additional scenes. He also indicated that Fox Interactive plans to release a CD-ROM disk about the ship that will feature underwater footage taken by his crew and other historical material.

Make sure you read this info, it's quite interesting:

I will say this. Cameron sure knows how to take advantage of the situation and make money$$$.

Note that the Variety article quotes Cameron as saying that the "Director's Cut" may not be released for quite some time, as the theatrical release is the "definitive" version.

They'll probably wait a couple of years then rerelease it as a 'Special Edition,' as Spielberg did with 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind.'

Cheers!
